When a network, control system, sensor array or radio link starts failing and nobody can explain it, the cause is usually an RF source nobody's looking for. I survey the affected area, characterise what's actually on the air, and separate signal from noise to pin down the disruption.

Finding a source that doesn't want to be found is its own discipline. Using direction finding and signal-hunting technique honed in counter-surveillance work, I track interference back to its origin — whether that's a failing supply two units away or an external emitter bleeding into your band.

Not every RF problem is dramatic interference — sometimes a link just underperforms. I investigate poor range, unreliable links and flaky telemetry from the antenna and receiver up, finding the physical-layer reason the system isn't doing what the datasheet promised.
