GPS jammer detection & investigation

When the tracker goes dark, jamming is usually why.

Cheap GPS jammers are now a standard tool for stealing plant, machinery and high-value vehicles — they blind the tracker so the asset can't be followed or recovered. I'm the independent RF engineer who detects the jamming, locates the source, and proves what happened.

The problem

The whole tracker industry now sells "jammer-resistant" — for a reason.

Thieves don't break the tracker; they drown it. A £30 device in a cab or a nearby vehicle silences GPS across a yard, and the asset rolls away invisible. Detection and proof is an RF-engineering job, not a tracker subscription.

£30+

Cost of the jammer that defeats a tracking system worth far more.

What I do

Detect it, locate it, prove it.

Independent RF work the tracker companies can't offer — because I don't sell the tracker, so there's no agenda in the findings.

Detection & sweeps

Yard & depot jamming sweeps

Trackers going dark in the same yard? I sweep the site to confirm whether GPS jamming is active, when it happens, and how strong it is — turning "we think something's wrong" into a measured fact.

Location

Locate the jammer

Direction finding to trace an active jammer back to its source — a device in a specific cab, a vehicle parked across the road, or a unit hidden on a machine.

Independent evidence

Forensic investigation for claims & disputes

Impartial, documented proof that jamming occurred — frequency, levels, timing, location — for insurance claims, loss adjusters and legal disputes. Independent evidence carries weight a supplier's report doesn't.

Resilience

Vulnerability survey & advice

Assess how exposed a yard or fleet is to jamming and advise on resilience — vendor-neutrally, because I've nothing to sell you but the engineering.

Hire fleets

Returned-asset sweeps

Check returned hire vehicles or plant for a fitted jammer — used to evade telematics or as a precursor to theft — before the next hire goes out.

High-value vehicles

Vehicle & asset checks

Sweep high-value cars, vans and assets for jamming devices and confirm whether a tracking blackout was interference or a fault.

Straight and legitimate

Detection and proof — the right side of the line.

Independent

I sell no trackers

No hardware to push, no subscription to protect. The finding is the truth about your RF environment — which is exactly why it stands up for an insurer or a court.

Lawful

Detection only — never jamming

Using or supplying a jammer is a criminal offence in the UK. This service is entirely defensive: I detect, locate, document and advise. I never supply jamming equipment or help defeat lawful tracking.

Expert

40 years of RF

An RF and microwave engineer with a counter-surveillance background — finding signals that don't want to be found is the core craft, not a sideline.

An on-site jamming detector that doesn't wait to be asked.

The service finds jamming when you call. The next step is a device that watches the GNSS band continuously at your yard, on a machine or in a vehicle — and the moment it sees jamming, it acts: sounds an alarm, alerts your team, or notifies a monitoring centre.

  • Continuous GNSS-band monitoring — alerts the instant jamming starts
  • Configurable response: local siren, SMS/app alert, or monitoring-centre call
  • Fixed (yard / gate) or mobile (in-cab / in-vehicle) versions
  • Designed and built in the UK — complements your trackers, doesn't replace them
